The One

A girl dealing with heartbreak, realises her friend might be the one.

Heart beats fast,

Knees shake,

What she's just been told,

Feels like her whole worlds about to break.

She thought everything was fine, obviously not.

He was seeking comfort in another girl's arms.

She gave him all she had,

And for what?

This pain.

She coughs back tears

And then picks up the phone

She knows just who to call.

The one who's been there all along.

The one she knew the best, the one who knew her too.

She hadn't realised until now,

Though they'd been there forever.

The one.

The doorbell rings,

She races down,

Opens the door, and throws her arms around,

The One.
