I wish I did not have this failing that prevents me from being just like you. |
| The long road snakes through close pressing trees Wind kisses my nape with lips that freeze Frantic pace defies my grumbling knees. Hark! I thought I heard a haunting moan As shadows lengthen, my fear has grown I pray for succour, but none is shown. For human failing, what fates beckon? My deep dark secret: would you reckon, Right for left I would confuse again? If I can get back home safe and sound, If I can stop going round and round, This lesson into my head I’ll pound. A big red ‘R’ stuck on each right shoe A glowing ‘L’ on the left one too, Then I can navigate, just like you. Day 6 - Prompt: "My deepest darkest secret..." I was tired of quatrains, pleasant as they are, so we have five tercets with nine syllable lines right through. |
