Goodbyes

There finally came a day when I knew that I had to let you go.
It wasn’t because of anything you said or did,
It was just the fact that I knew we were never meant to be.

So I packed up my bags and left the place
We once shared and called our home.
I could see in your eyes, I had broken your heart,
And you know I never meant to hurt you.
But I couldn’t continue leading a lie
And continue to keep up the pretences.

I know you still despise me
For all the hurt and pain that I have caused
But you know, all the things we said and done
Is knitted in the web of our history.
You will always hold a special place in my heart
And I hope one day you will forgive me.
