What Might Have Been

You know I could have made you truly happy
I would have filled your heart with warmth and light
I would have done almost anything
If you didn't put up such a fight

But now I realise that you never really wanted me
Despite all that I have ever done
Your heart was filled with lies and deceit
So now we’ll never know what might have been
