My Veil

a short poem

My veil is my shield,



You protect me,



You embrace me with the presence of Allah,



You help me to show I am a Muslimah,



You help me maintain my modesty,



You have become a part of me I will never let go,



You are my comfort,



My blanket,



My joy,



Whoa to the one who asks me to remove it,



Woa to the one who does not understand it,



The oppression felt is in the heart of others that do not understand you,



Oh how I love  my veil, my modesty, my Allah!!!
