Emotional dead end

Lost Souls


Slammed shut
Sealed tight
The door to the soul.
Gateway to a dead end
Drifting in the sea of nothingness.
Dark and quiet,
Empty and hollow,
Echoes of cries long ago
Falling on the ears of indifference.
Wanting more; expecting nothing;
Existing in the emptiness of silence.
