Dark Lullaby

A cry for relief and a glimmer of light

Sing a lullaby to this heart.

Coax it forth from these wretched shadows.

Soothe its pain and repair its tears.

This broken and beaten heart can't bear much more.

It sits in the shadows too weak to crawl forward.

And still this harrowed heart continues its beat,

hoping that a caring soul will hear its lonely cry.
