A piece about development and modernization.
|They vanished into the mist
maybe they didn't really exist
but I thought I saw them there;
spirit hunters with coal black hair.
Development claims more lands,
ceding to population's demands.
The once sacred resting place
destroyed like the people's race.
In the swamps of the north
on dark nights they come forth.
The ancient Ojibwa walk still,
seemingly to hunt and kill.
