Good, Better, Best

A Poem to encourage children to always do the very best that they can.

My Dad did not expect an “A”
On every History test.
The only thing he asked of me,
Was...  ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST!

For when you try to reach the top
You stretch your mind and soul.
You open doorways to the world,
That help you reach your goal.

You may not reach that highest peak,
That makes you number one.
You may not take the trophy home,
When the competition’s done.

But you have won a higher prize
To place upon the shelf.
A prize that gives you pride and joy.
Satisfaction with yourself.

So make these words your lifelong guide.
Never quit and never rest,
Until... Your Good Becomes Your Better,
And...
Your Better Becomes Your Best!!
