I’ve traced the shadows on the wall,
where your body once displaced the light.

I caress the wrinkles,
you left on the bed sheets
before I black out for the night.

I will never leave this darkness
for fear I will fall from your grace.
I need you  beside me
as I too
make my escape.

Every day I think I might die,
without you here beside me.
I can’t move
I lay alone and I cry,
Without you here to guide me.

I listen to the messages you left on my phone
and pretend that you’re still there.
 
All I want is to share in your dreams from heaven
And stop being scared,
