To have a lover...

Having a lover that you are not in a relationship with.

To have a lover that's not yours to hold,
who is never there when your nights become cold.

To have a lover that makes you feel great,
but is never there for anything,
not even a date.

To have a lover I will never see,
and will never get to know the real me.

To have a lover that isn't yours is a sin,
and you know is a battle in which you will never win.

To have this lover is foolish and dumb,
becuase it just leaves you feeling lonely, and numb.
