An unrhymed Four by Four
Sun streaks across morning skies,
glinting on ermine-blanketed roofs
tracked by deer and sleigh runners.
Could it be Christmas Day already?

Glinting on ermine-blanketed roofs,
the rays call softly to the world.
"Wake up dad, please wake up all!
We have had a visitor! Come see.

Tracked by deer and sleigh runners,
house tops cover sleepy parents
and their wide-eyed, excited kids.
"I want to see what Santa brought."

Could it be Christmas Day already?
The family gathers around, bright-eyed,
thankful for the bright gifts piled,
remembering the reason for the season.
