MANATEE

... a brief personal encounter with a manatee.

         MANATEE

Young manatee floats on his back a few feet under.
Humanity's gaze, amazed by quiet grandeur,
filled with glee.  A mute sea reveals a wonder.

Impossible not to share with all passing there---
huge manatee watching us, enjoying a moment of thunder,
igniting senses and curiosity with flair.

Then disappearing into the depths.
Thrilled crowd dispersing, filled with sentiment---
satisfaction personal, interaction universal.
