This is one of my more recent pieces, not as good as some.

We Are the People

We are the people
Who say we have no fears
Yet bottled up inside
Are all those years of built up tears

We say we'll make a difference
But we know we can't do anything
without each-other
Is there some way to work with one another?

Maybe if we get over our losses
And swallow our pride
We'd show each-other
what's truly inside

I know what you're thinking,
You're waiting for the man next to you
To show you what to do
He's thinking the same thing
That will not get us through

We are the people
who are afraid to take a chance
Afraid of what might come
But what might come cannot be worse
Than what has been done

We are the people
Who have brought this among ourselves
We must change it
By getting over our wealth

So be the one
To step forward,
take a chance, take a risk
Nothing can be worse than this

We are the people
who procrastinate and stall
We are the people who
Must help ourselves, help us all
