a quick piece about leaving for work
Dry leaves and dirty snow
swirl across my garage floor,
waving an early winter's hello
as I wait for the opening door.
Time to get moving once more;
out into the pre-dawn again.
The car starts with a roar,
vocalizing post-slumber pain,
we are reluctant to tackle the chore
of rolling across the garage floor.
