New Year's with the Hippopotamus

I went to the herb woman for a potion,
Said I want to meet someone on New Year's Eve
Start the New Year like it should be
Me and someone Special don't you see

Herb woman gave no potion
Instead twas a recipe she gave me
Said was sure to make me happy
To meet someone Special on New Year's Eve

She said mix up the recipe
but not till New Year's Eve
so here I am in my kitchen
Mixing, stirring up, what do I see?

Holdin' my head, oh what a New Year!
Me and someone Special, can't you see?
Dizzy spells, can't hold my head up!
My hippopotamus girlfriend holdin' it up for me.
