This letter is a fiction, relating the writer's progress in her career.
Wow, you did as you promised. You are published. Only small projects as fiction (flash mostly), article, essay, and poetry. I remember when you promised you will write a book for children. Have you done it? You have? You are doing it now? Would you like to tell me all about it? It's not a secret, is it? Is the book for adults or for children? For children? Interesting. Do tell.
It is all about wild animals of the sea. Are these animals of interest to children? You think it is. Are there other books already written about these animals? You did a research and you are positive that some books have been written but only in general terms. You say these animals are mammals? They are large, no, some of the species are large and some are small. They live most of the time in the Pacific Ocean and the other half they live on land -- on beaches you say? You are definitely certain that these mammals are found on the beaches of California as well as Mexico; that the beaches where these animals congregate some parts of their life are known as rookeries?
Oooh, your book sounds interesting. Tell me more. You say the males of these mammals are known as bulls; the females are called cows, and the newly born babies are known as pups, that these pups become known as weanies when they are weaned, that they are left at a young age to fend for themselves without either their bull pop or cow mom. I would like to know more, please tell me more. But you said you would tell me more. Wait until your book is published. Well, that is what friends are for, I say.
Many thanks. I shall look forward to reading the book.
