Observations taken of one of my close friends for an assignment
|From afar she doesn’t stand out, yet another tall, slender figure in the crowd. Her chestnut hair drapes over her shoulders like a curtain, her skin bronze from days in the sun.
When you see her up close, it’s completely different. Her rich, chocolate eyes draw you in, framed by long dark eyelashes. Her square face lights up when she smiles a wide grin. Freckles dot across her nose and scatter over her face.
When watched keenly her slight idiosyncrasies emerge. The slightest extension of her neck, the smooth motion of tucking her hair behind her ears and the occasional licking of dry lips become more apparent.
When she talks, her steady voice is often coupled with an amused tone, a constant mocking grin seconds away from emerging. Often a bored expression will show on her face, mostly at school. She is balanced, mostly calm and happy, although once in a while her anxious side surfaces and causes her to freak out.
Walking forward, her steps are even and precise, she doesn’t pause. She is decisive in her movements. Her hair sweeps back away from her face, uncovering the earphones in her ears, a permanent fixture.
She is independent, headstrong and intelligent. Her friends think the world of her; always there in her brief moments of weakness, any moments of self doubt. Everyone around her is affected by her presence.
