Life's not long enough to live happily AND stressfully.
What if you lost your arms, and could no longer brush your hair?
What if you lost your legs, and could no longer walk from here to there?
What if you lost your eyesight, and could not read your favourite book?
What if you lost your voice, and couldn't even ask how you look?
What if you lost your hearing, and could not listen to your favourite song?
What if you lost your sense of taste, and could not taste chocolate on your tongue?
What if you lost your sense of touch, and could not feel what was really there?
What if you couldn't afford shoes, and had to walk around with your feet bare?
What if you had no home, and had to sleep on the street?
What if you were starving, and didn't have anything to eat?
Imagine for a moment you were paralysed-you couldn't walk or talk.
Would you be so high-and-mighty then, with you now standing so tall?
It's not that somebody's way doesn't work-it just works in a different way.
For the now at least, a little understanding wouldn't go astray.
Trade lives with someone else, not as well-off as you.
Take my life for a day; let's see how well you do.
Turn each simple task, into a difficult obstacle and you'll see:
Things are always harder, in a different circumstance or body.
Put yourself in someone else’s shoes, just for a little bit.
Now I want you to close your eyes, and ask yourself:
"What if...?"
