My Grief

Written in a low point of my life.

I sit here
Knowing your not there.
You gave me life
And lessons to stand on…
Because you live in me

Losing you has made me numb
lost inside, lost in time
Though I know I should be strong
Full of life, full of love

Pale, frozen, life forgotten
My tears,
my fears,
my dreams
Now haunted

This is my grief
This is my pain
Everything turns to gray
I’ve made it through another day


Nights with these dreams are like memories
Fall in them,
Drown in them,
Suffocate then breathe again…

One last breath
Retrace your thoughts…

Losing them…
I can't go back

Lost them…
to being with you

Alone again
Another night
And on it continues
Time will heal…
Or so they say
