Night Time

As I lay
On the grass
Staring
Up at the night sky
I see
All kinds of things.
The stars
Glitter
Like jewels
On black velvet.
A shooting star
Rushes by
Lighting the sky
Like fireworks.
The man in the moon
Winks from above
And smiles broadly.
As the moonbeams
Shimmer around me
An inner peace
Fills my heart,
My soul,
My mind.
