Too Soon

Your struggling is no more

You’ve reached the other side

Because you're gone, we can’t ignore

The pain of a void so wide

 

Conversations left unfinished

Stories left untold

Laughter and talks diminished

Before they could unfold

 

We rejoice in your destination

Yet we struggle to understand

But there’s no illumination

Only trusting in God’s plan

 

Your lively spirit's gone away

We just felt it was too soon

We'll see you again one day

Yet can’t help that sadness looms

 

You’d say not to cry

You’re in a better place

And we may even try

But missing you can’t be erased

 

We know you’re in heaven now

With God you’re close and dear

Yet forgive us anyhow

Because we just can’t stop the tears
