The First Snowfall |
| When the first snow flake has fallen And all around is white The neighborhood falls quiet, Waiting for that first snow fight. The trees now seem more vibrant With each layer of fallen snow And the fields that shouted greenery Now lay quiet with newfound glow. I’ve never felt so warm before Even though the temp’s below And the wind provides me comfort With each cold breathe of snow. Footprints line the streets today Marking the passing of those who played And tomorrow will be a brand new slate And all footprints wiped away. |
