Promise Me

Just written, not much to think of.

Promise that you'll never let me go
that you'll walk with me through the darkest nights
and no matter what happens
you'll be by my side

I learned too long ago the meaning of goodbye
when one friend had to say goodbye
years later
I couldn't seem to find her anywhere
no matter what I tried

I looked everywhere
in the darkest corners
of the darkest rooms
yet she was nowhere to be found

I wish I could find her now
so I'd have the peice of knowing where she was
and knowing how she is doing
but is it even possible
to find out that information today

Maybe that's why
I never want you to let me go
that I want you to walk with me
through the darkest nights
so I know that you're okay
wherever you go
