Footprints in my heart


It started with friendship we're both happy
Our romantic world was just a fantasy
You came you conquered you won
Along came someone then you were gone.


I dream about your love it was not for me
I longed for your affection you didin't stay
I heard about your song it was so far away
In my heart it rings an unending melody .


You and I were simply not meant to be
Our love had endured but not our destiny
What's left were wonderful memories
Our journey moved on with our own families.

Three decades later one day I said Hi
You still remember then we said goodbye
Maybe someday our paths will cross again
Your footprints in my heart will always remain.
