Through My Eyes

Love poem, dedicated to Chris, the man I love.

If you only you could see what I see

If you could feel for just a moment what it is you mean to me

No words could ever really be enough

I’ve tried but it’s simply too tough

So instead I’ll show you

Through everything I do



The more I look at you and see who you really are

I can see just how torn apart you were, what you had to endure

It makes me sad to know that it affected you so

How you stayed so long, you didn’t go

When you deserve so much more

Someone who puts you first, someone you can really adore



I have faith that one day you’ll look at me

And realise your past pain is a distant memory

You will start to open and see

You can truly trust in me

And that’s the day you’ll know with absolute certainty

That you’re ready to promise you’re life to me, to marry me



If only you could see how wonderful you really are

How looking at you is like looking at a twinkling star

I can’t help but marvel at how beautiful you are to see

You take the breathe right out of me

I find a peace when you’re around

Just like when gazing at the stars and there isn’t a sound
