Stains

Something that came to me while reading.

Blood staining the floor an ugly brown
Marking the passing of a fallen foe
Who failed to heed my warning
And drew steel against me.

Another life lost because of past wrongs
Unable to forget, unwilling to forgive.
Bloody footsteps are all that's behind me
While foes without end line up before me.

Heed my warning, Children of Man.
When you choose to deal in death
You are sealing your own fate.
Walk the path of peace
Lest your life end in a stain on the floor.
