Beware of cowboys whose loving ways can steal your heart
Now, I love country music
which, my city friends don’t understand.
I want to marry a cowboy
who owns a ranch house and lots of land.
I’ve never been to the country
mama has, but will never go back again
she say’s it was an adventure
But there’s nothing romantic about the pain.
My daddy was a cowboy,
and he and I have never met,
but my mama talks about it
‘cause she doesn’t want me to forget.

Every girl wants the love of a cowboy.
Every woman knows what that love can do.
No one can love better than a cowboy,
‘cause a cowboy loves the heart out of you.

A cowboy doesn’t meekly cross the floor
to ask you for a dance,
He has a determined stride
and the question is in his glance.
Hips loose from bein’ in the saddle,
his movements are real smooth.
He’s sidled out of trouble so often,
knows how and when to move.
His hands bear a callus or two -
that’s ‘cause his a workin’ man,
but when it comes to a gentle touch
no one does it better than a cowboy can.

Every girl wants the love of a cowboy.
Every woman knows what that love can do.
No one can love better than a cowboy
‘cause a cowboy loves the heart out of you.

A cowboy wears his hat down low
as if his look, he’s trying to disguise,
but it’s really his protective nature
to stop young girls drownin’ in his eyes.
You haven’t loved unless you’ve given
a cowboy you’re lovin’ heart,
which he will take and carry away
when you and the cowboy part.
But when a cowboy appears next to a woman
and those smilin’ eyes caress her skin,
instead of being wise and walking away
she’ll look in his eyes and find her heart again.

Every girl wants the love of a cowboy.
Every woman knows what that love can do.
No one can love better than a cowboy,
‘cause a cowboy loves the heart out of you.

But mama’s story doesn’t make me afraid
like the city men I’ve met.
Men who want to control me
and make me part of the trendy set.
Mama didn’t want that either,
that’s why she let the cowboy into her life.
Like mama, I want the love of a cowboy,
a cowboy who wants a wife.
For every girl that’s loved a cowboy
mama’s words ring loud and true,
But the memories are bitter sweet
Of a man who can love the heart out of you.

Every girl wants the love of a cowboy.
Every woman knows what that love can do.
No one can love better than a cowboy,
‘Cause a cowboy loves the heart out of you
