A nature poem about the flipside of various forms of life |
| Night arrives, drives out the day Refreshing repose to ensure Some resist but have no say Nature's course will still endure Pink roses in Summer bloom Then in Winter shed their glow Shooting stars on galaxy zoom Last a while and end the show Flora's hood, a lovely green Basking, swims in moisture's grace Tougher weather takes the sheen Younger sprouts soon take their place Bubbles boast of brilliant hues Dance about on rainbow ride Fate designs a time of rues Casts the pride of being aside Time derides our futile fight To flee the fall that is our due But fall we must to reach the height Where light sublime hallows dew Like a leaf that loses hold Leaves its place to kiss the dust So this scroll of life must fold And earthly glories bow to rust |
