A war sonnet i wrote. |
| Dying to the sound only of cries, In a place, not of comfort but of horror, Too see your horrored expression in your fellow soldier’s eyes’ Without giving your final words to her. Too watch over your loved ones mourning, Standing over your hollow empty grave, Tears on their faces pouring, Just a lost memory of how you were brave. You’re helpless to the fact that you’re lost, Your identity, forever gone, You can never belong For your country your life was the cost You forever paid the price, Only with your life. |
