| Roadside Cafe Top of a hill Stopped for some coffee A break from the wheel Had a chance encounter Of the sordid kind I was tired from the road She was drunk from the wine Who could see what would happen The way things would go It’s funny what someone will do When no one will know She bumped into my table Coffee slipped through the cracks Between the wall and the napkins All I could do was laugh There was red in her cheeks Highlights in her hair I asked her if she’d join me She said she didn’t care Who could see what would happen With the meeting out of the way It’s funny what people do at night When there won’t be another day I walked out of the motel Left the keys by the door Left her lying on the bed Clothes lying on the floor There was red in her cheeks She had beautiful hair I softly kissed her good bye She probably didn’t care Who could see what would happen What I’d leave behind that door It’s funny how people get confused Was it lust or something more Road side cafe Top of a hill Keep waiting to see her I probably never will |
