My first Lantern Poetry

                                                                                    The
                                                                              drums beat
                                                                              in the night
                                                                          our Earth Mother’s
                                                                                  heart.

                                                                                  half
                                                                                moon in
                                                                            dark shadow
                                                                          reveals brighter
                                                                                  part

                                                                                    as
                                                                                women
                                                                                gather to
                                                                          drum and heal us
                                                                                    all

                                                                                    for
                                                                                  all are
                                                                              connected
                                                                            to the one home
                                                                                  source.





The Lanturne is a five-line verse shaped like a Japanese lantern (so poem must be centered) with a syllabic pattern of one, two, three, four, one.
