A short poem on things to be thanful for.
We see people thank God for many things
We see the athletes thank God for their ability
We see people thankful for the money they have
We see couples thankful for each other.
But, we should thank God for his greatest gifts.

We are thankful when we are happy
We should also be thankful when we are sad, miserable and depressed
How could we truly experience joy without these

We are thankful when people do things with us
We should also be thankful when the people we are around leave us
How else could we let somebody new into our lives.

We are thankful when life is easy
We should be thankful for the challenges in our lives
How else would we learn to persevere

We are thankful when we have riches
We should be thankful when we do not have many material possessions
How else could we appreciate these things when we have them

We are thankful when people tell us how great we are
We should also be thankful when people tell us we are not that important
How else will we learn to humble ourselves

We are thankful when people let us have our way
We should also be thankful when people tell us no
How else can we learn that we cannot have everything

We are thankful for a great many things that bring us pleasure
We should also be thankful for those that bring us strife
How else could we learn to concur our fears

We are thankful for our freedom
We should also be thankful when we are made to suffer the consequences of our actions
How else could we learn the responsibility that comes with freedom

We are thankful for the good things in life
We should also be thankful for the bad things
How else could we learn to become better people

There is a great many thing that we are thankful for
There are also many things we should be thankful for
These are the things that make us better people and more appreciative of what we have
