Sitting and thinking does not take one anywhere.
PICK UP THE DICE: a sonnet, Award Winner

Why keep gazing forever at the dice,
Waiting for the most opportune moment?
Prevarication is a mental vice;
It does only add to predicament.

How can one always waiting at the bank
Learn to swim without entering water?
One has to jump in and be bold and frank.
He only wins who just does not falter.

Wisdom lies in being careful that
We waste not what we can’t ever regain.
Let thriftiness be our guiding diktat;
Let saving each minute be our refrain.

Pick up the dice, roll it and simply throw.
Do not keep sitting in the waiting row.
