What Happened?

What happened to the good old days?

People passing day by day
No one will say “Hello”
From early winter to late May
Not a single friendly fellow

What happened to the good old times
When neighbors lent a helping hand?
What happened to the good old times
When  people shared their tools and land?

Yet nowadays few people care
About the ones around
Many too greedy to share
Generosity unable to be found

I hope one day
There comes a fellow who will say
With a smile and a cheery wave
“Hello how was your day?”
