Wen two lovers are absent one from the other; trust and yearning play games.
Love Aches Goodbye

Love is an ache,
Absence without leave,
My cry is congealed on the
Surface of a cold earth:
Memory is all I have, like a fire,
Mute, volcanic, under the crust of yearning;
There is brittleness in my bones,
They seek rigid forms to rest,
Like Sonnets, and Haikus, structured
To resist the temptation to adlib,
I mime thoughts in front of the mirror:
My pancake face is pitiful, the gestures
Feeble and weak, unable to speak,
I pull my heart out of my chest, on wings
It flies from my white gloved hands, they wave,
I box myself in, and wait, I sadly slip below
The mirror, they wave goodbye…
