Should we feel guilty about the death of an unknown child or the rape of a stranger?
Discarded children,
broken hearts,
shattered bodies.
None more than five years old,
the acceptance
of hopelessness
dulls their old eyes.
A ricochet of a militant’s bullet
close the eye's of a two year old,
forever.
Political greed,
culling out the weak
through starvation.
World apathy,
an invisible enemy.
Allowing disease
to prosper and strike
innocent children,
whose fight for life
is equal to that
of a warrior.
Women
beaten, raped, murdered
by the humanity
they have never known.
The humanity who
turns it's back
or closes it's eyes.
Ignorance validates inaction.
For a brief moment
the world weeps.
The tears
of a carers love
or tears of guilt?
