Random Surges of Emotion

A short poem in memoriam of my long lost pet Sirius

You were my brother, my mother's son.

For those five years, our souls melded - we were as one.

You assuaged my wounds, I did likewise.

But then, why did we abruptly end our ties?

What hurts is not that I see you no more,

But not knowing how you are is what leaves my heart sore.
