A poem, based on a true experience. |
| The river I saw your eyes in a summer’s evening Light blue against the world’s ceiling I saw your smile by the river, A lone star shot from the sky’s quiver And in the river I was lost I was lost in your eyes As the fair’s music played And the wind whispered lies. I saw you walk by the river Your bare feet caressing the sand And you were beautiful like a naiad A fairy-spirit if the land. And the river I crossed With you hand in hand As the sun started to set And the stage got ready for the band You were afraid of the dark autumn You were summer and the last ray of sun So when the rain came we just run And the river I saw dark in the clutches of the storm As the summer faded, faded inside a dark winter’s form But I saw your smile again Even when we where cold and wet And I knew summer was there In your eyes In your smile And every time we met. |
