Cowboy bar

The ersatz cowboys getting drunk
On a Saturday night
Stuck in a corner
Silently fondling the dream
So many people
Have given up on love.
Tangled with a demon
In Lucifer’s nightmare
And lost his soul to the rabid phantom
In the dark night.
As she walked by
Staring at you with pleading eyes
Begging for forgiveness
