So much remains...
Pieces of words here and there,
We always excuse, forgive;
Done all the time, anywhere
And we continue, we outlive.

It causes hurt deep inside
Words reaching secret spaces,
Hence forgetting honor or pride
We see no sorrow on the faces.

Feelings kept, not shown
We don’t give of ourselves,
But torn pieces of our own
Loneliness hidden in shelves.

Old stories, memories blown
Long-ago romances,
We know … we are alone
Furious acceptances.

Cascading tiers of our lives
Little pieces of our own,
So many remains of afterlives
Unfolding into the unknown.
