A poem about waiting on that special someone

GOD GAVE ME YOU

Just when I thought
I would be alone forever.
Just when I thought
My fantasy would never come true.
Just when I thought
Soul mate was someone I would never meet –
God gave me you.
When I started to give up,
When my eyes had cried themselves dry,
When I thought love was making a fool of me,
God said, “ Don’t give up, wait and see”.
So there I stood,
With my heart on my sleeve,
Not sure what to do.
My faith had all but dried up –
Then God gave me you.
