A poem I wrote about my relationship with one of my best friends.
That lovely summer
Long ago
Has faded and left us behind

You would come hither
And then go
Yet not feelings left our minds
(And our hearts left the other behind)

All I could do
Was for your sake
The joy and the pain

We got through
And another hand, you take.
None could say you didn't gain.
(Yet you never forgot me, out there in the rain)

I hope you'll never give up
Never turn, or from love run away
No matter how dark it is around the bend

Let love flow like a bounty into your cup
And always turn and face the day
And live happily until the end.
(Because I'll be your Guardian, through the end.)
