Doesn't Make Sense

An experiment I tried taking cliched phrases and making them come to life again.

Grief said apologies go only so far
Doubt said he saw it coming
Pain said he knew that Trouble was close
When his jaw started numbing
News sat down at the table with us
And said it didn't feel so good
And Empty Promises told us they would help
But we all knew they never would
Tears are swimming in the pool
And Curiosity is killing the cat
And the frail words you said told me no thanks to bread
And Alcoholism drank one to that
Memorie's kids ran through the house
Acting out scenes from long ago
As Knowledge patted my back and said,
"There are some things that we will never know."
Time said he would heal all wounds
But set up no other defense
And Insanity is in awe of all this Chaos
And tells me, "you and I
Are the only ones
That make sense."
