Another project for my school, this poem is a few years old.
A beautiful spring day;
warm, light; in early May,
people on blankets, looking at the sky,

Flit-flit, tweet tweet, birds on the fly
going to the feeders for food
or taking a shower, whatever fits their mood.

Butterflies going from flowers to flowers
while clouds float past, hours after hours;
a deer and her fawn eat in the field,

A cooling breeze flows without yield;
look, a fox's kits jumping in their play,
a cat and her kittens enjoying the wonderful day.

An eagle flies overhead, learning to use her wings,
a fallen tree, showing its many rings;
grass and plants growing,

Rivers and waterfalls flowing;
fish, like salmon, on their way upstream,
bears, catching those fish that gleam.

Birds carry worms to baby birds in their nests,
bunnies hop around all day without rest;
children running around, calling,

Cherry tree buds; floating, falling;
chipmunks, thinking of winter, noses as red as a berry,
squirrels playing, just a merry.

The whole ecosystem, on the point of a knife,
that's what I call 'The Circle of Life'
