I watched as you held me tight
And kissed me every night
I watched as you promised your heart
And watched you tear mine apart

I listened to you profess your devotion
I gave in believing in your notion
I listened as your heart beat with mine
And I thought it would be just fine

I thought my heart was thicker than glass
And the pain would soon come to pass
I thought you had your heart set on me
That you were determined to make me see

I wished you were sincere in what you said
But they were dreams and wishes that filled my head
I wished you would keep your word, hold on tight
But when it was said and done all we did was fight

I knew I loved you and that you were for me
We could make it if that's what was meant to be
I knew that if we tried we could make it through
But you didn't have that same faith in me too

So I watched as you broke my heart
And I felt the tugs on every little part
I listened as you began to walk away
And I knew there was nothing left I could say
