Prison Bars

Prison bars enclose my broken heart
It’s hard to feel and embrace my emotions
I’m dead inside and I need to come alive
Otherwise I’m not going to get anywhere in life

The day you went away
Made me the person I am today
My ambition in life, I chose to sacrifice
Its hard to move on
When a love one has gone

Horrifying thoughts control my mind
And every day I fall more behind
I’ll never be able to accept his death
I’m the one who pushed on his chest
Mouth to mouth
I tried so hard to give him back his breath
What did I do that was so bad?
That god punished me by stealing my dad
I did nothing wrong
Committed no crimes
All the time I question why?
Why did my dad have to die
He was a good guy
