A girl's doll, once her pride and joy, has become something more sinister
her name was jane
jane had black hair
she wore a black frock
and shiny black shoes

jane had a doll
it was a porcelain doll
it had blue eyes
jane's doll's name was anna

jane loved anna
and she always
brought it with her
wherever she went

jane took the doll
one day to an old graveyard
jane played with anna
in that old bleak graveyard

jane cut anna's hair
she ripped anna's clothes
she took anna's head
and buried it under a bush

jane went home
to her tiny black house
she always lived alone
cowering in it like a mouse

she slept in her little bed that night
dreaming good little dreams
she woke up the next day
anna was with her again

now anna loved jane
but jane hated anna
jane wanted anna gone
but anna will never leave

anna will never leave
