A dark poem not my style. Written for my entertainment and hopfully yours.
"Those Who Dwell in the Dark"

when I venture out into the light.
I can see how bright the light can be,
it scares me; there's no safe place to
hide, I'm exposed to all. I can't wait to
return and hide myself, in the shelter

of the dark. In the light I risk, yes risk
discovery of who I really am. You know,
not like others, I barely function.
In the dark no one knows I'm there,
and that's fine with me.

I'm always in fear someone will see that
I'm not up to par; but in my mind you see,
I'm a star. Then I think if you are a star;
why don't you shine?

Arrogant, oh arrogant one that I am,
thinking I'm as good as they.
To have such ability and not share,
how do I dare. Now I just stare.
