NO ESCAPE

This is how I feel when I just want to get away

I don't want to feel today.
I just want to be alone, numb.
I want to close myself off from the the world.

People, they don't understand.
They poke, they prod,
Talking, touching, asking.
There is no escape.

I just want to be alone today.
Within myself,
Not thinking,
Not knowing.

People, they judge me as rude,
Someone aloof.
But they do not understand,
Blind to my turmoil,
My sickness within.

I don't want to feel today.
I just want to be alone, numb,
Away from my sickness within.
